Just some more characters...

Whenever I sit down to draw, it goes straight to characters... So I'm forcing myself to branch out and go back to some layout and animal/life drawing this week. its a must. I also really need to get some of that magic attitude into my characters. but for now, here's what I've got. Yes, this girl is cross-eyed with thanks to the crappy eraser that comes on the back of my pencil. o well, here's my daily dump...

Summer Character Designing

Practice Practice Practice... Just received my diploma from graduating VCA and i graduated with honours!!  Nothing would make me happier than graduating Animation with honours and putting this degree to good use, so here's to 4 years of practicing everyday and non stop drawing.

Here's some character designs/sketches I've done in the last few days.

Digital Painting Practice

Since I have very little experience in digital painting, and i've been trying to get more comfortable with the digital stuff, I decided to make a master copy painting with the tablet. I know its an assignment in first year animation to make a master copy with gouache so I'm sorta killing two birds with one stone, or no birds, but I'm trying

The first image is the master image, its a scene for Disney's Bambi. Not My Work. If only i could work watercolor like that. Love the texture in it and i miss having such awesome work in the movies.

 This one is my digital copy. Lacks some of the depth that makes this one (^) so awesome. gotta work on that. did the Sketch on top of the image and then painted it on my own. next step, doing it blindly.

Toons on Tap Week 2

Went back to Toons on Tap for a second time. Drawing, again, did not go well, but i have 2 very mediocre drawings, and I've been challenged to post on the blog daily by my fellow classmate and Toons on Tap groupie, so ill post it anyway.... dont judge me :/

Toons On Tap

Went to Toons On Tap downtown tonight for the first time. It was probably the most fun and most INTIMIDATING thing ever! lets just say, it was a lot of seasoned professionals, not so much incoming first year students. but it was a blast none the less. Here's some of my drawings (the night was not all that successful on the drawing front) and then I came home, very inspired, and digitally painted my favourite one. still gotta finish the hand but heres what i have so far....

Learning How to Use Gouache aka Summer Project

Decided since i only paint in Oils and Animation primarily requires gouache i should save myself some heartache come September and get on that.... this is my first ever gouache painting. im copying a scene from Aladdin at the market place. Major WIP but well see how this goes... im about an hour in and clearly not done

VCA class of 2013 Grad Video

                          

Our VCA graduating class made this video as a collaboration project in our Digital Imagery class in our final semester. We were each assigned 24 frames to be painted, 12 digitally and 12 by hand.
