Yr1:Semester 1 Demo Reel

Yr1:Painting- Still Life

We had to paint a small (7x10) study of one object, either glass or metal, on material and then we had to do another full still life (9x12) with metal and glass on material.
This Still life got held back for the display case too!! 3 out of the 4 painting assignments onto the wall... not too shabby :)

Yr1:Layout- Layout Pan

We had to make a vertical or horizontal layout that could be used as a continuos pan, meaning that if you cycled it through, it could go forever and you wouldn't have to cut the scene. We then had to add a layer of a character thats moving through the scene (the little squirrel) and an overlay character (the squirrel w the sweater) and an FX layer (the snow).

In honor of the first real snow, which came on the day I made this... here it is.

The 13 week bone portfolio extravaganza has finally come to a close. There are some things I wish I had more time to spend on fixing, but 13 weeks isnt so long when the level of work from weeks 1-9 are cringe-worthy and i basically had to redraw the entire thing in 3 weeks, on top of all other things. But Overall I'm pretty happy with it... fingers crossed for the marks next week...

Yr1:CharacterDesign- Expressions

Our Assignment was to paint 4 different textured in Gouache. These took about an hour each, though the kiwi required a lot or painting and repainting and Im still not happy with it, but its crunch time so itll have to do

*Just got these back and found out Florian kept all paintings to be put on the wall!!! Second set of paintings that he's kept. so proud to have escaped the notorious C+

Yr1:LifeDrawing - Portfolio

oops. Guess I'm a little late on this one, seeing as the next one is due in 2 weeks, but here was the midterm Life Drawing portfolio. Seeing as I completely transformed the way I life draw and my whole approach to it, it took a while to warm up to Thurman's methods of drawing so I was pretty happy to get a B on the portfolio... do yourself a favour and ignore the horrific shorthand hands and feet.. :/

O layout... the bain of my existence. The assignment was to take the setting and character from the first assignment, and create a 3 panel story using different camera angles. I wish I could say it didnt take me all week or that I was pleased w the final piece, but Im definitely learning a lot so that's always a good sign.
